Before your appointment, please take a moment to review the following list. If any of the conditions or treatments below apply to you, please let us know so we can ensure your safety and assess if an injection is appropriate.
[ ] HIV or AIDS
[ ] Cancer (especially blood cancers like leukaemia, lymphoma, or myeloma)
[ ] Autoimmune conditions (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease)
[ ] Chronic kidney disease or are you on dialysis
[ ] Uncontrolled diabetes
[ ] Severe malnutrition or known vitamin deficiencies
[ ] History of organ or bone marrow transplant
[ ] Chemotherapy or radiotherapy
[ ] Long-term steroid tablets (e.g. prednisolone)
[ ] Immunosuppressive medications (e.g. methotrexate, azathioprine, ciclosporin, mycophenolate)
[ ] Biologic drugs (e.g. adalimumab, infliximab, etanercept, rituximab)
[ ] Anti-rejection medication following a transplant
A weakened immune system can increase the risk of complications after a steroid injection. If you ticked any box, we’ll need to assess your situation individually to keep you safe.
