At Target Physio Injection Clinic, your safety is our top priority. In some cases, we may not be able to offer a joint or soft tissue injection. This could be due to medical reasons that increase the risk of complications. Please check the list below to see if any apply to you:
● You are under 18 years old
(We currently treat adults only)
● You are pregnant
(We do not offer steroid injections during pregnancy at any stage)
● You have a history of severe allergic reaction
(To steroids, hyaluronic acid, local anaesthetic, or other injection substances)
● You have a current or recent infection
(Including if you’ve been on antibiotics in the last 2 weeks)
● You have poorly controlled diabetes
(Your most recent HbA1c blood test result was 64 mmol/mol (8.0%) or higher)
● You’ve had a recent vaccination
(Such as Covid or travel vaccines in the last 2 weeks)
● You have a weakened immune system
(We will assess this on an individual basis- Patient Checklist)
● You’ve recently had surgery
Soft tissue surgery in the last 2 months
Bone or joint surgery in the last 3 months
● You are waiting for joint replacement surgery within the next 4 months
● You have metalwork or a joint replacement in place
(We cannot inject into replaced joints or where metalwork is present in the joint)
● You require a spinal injection
(These should be done using image guidance under hospital setting for safety)
